Exhibition space
This will be a small exhibition space with a direct link to the Kunststad. The idea is that Kunststad artists can present their small works here. Exhibitions will cover photography, small sculptures, paintings and architectural drawings and models, so in short it will focus on art, architecture and graphic design. The space will not be suitable for antiquities, films, furniture or large installations, due to its size and probable climatic limitations. Kunststad artists will be given priority but artists who are not from NDSM will also be allowed to display their works.
Bar/lunch room
There's a lack of catering at NDSM. The lunch room will provide an extra alternative and when it turns into a bar in the evening it will become the hotspot of NDSM for after-work drinks, residents, and artists working late.
The lunch room is also strongly related to the landscape - people can have their lunch or drink on the hill if the weather is nice.
Conference space
Conference space is needed to also attract a more corporate crowd to the location, but it is also strongly related to the Kunststad. Architects and graphic designers can hire it out for their presentations to their clients and artists can meet up with their clients here. Students can hire it for their graduation presentations and small conferences can be held here. Because it will be a relatively closed space due to its function it is placed in the middle of the park to still give it some sense of transparency and connection to the rest of the landscape and make sure it doesn't become a dead end.
Landscape
The term Landscape covers the park and large elements in the park. There are two functions. The first and most obvious function is the park function. There is a lack of green space and trees at NDSM and the park will provide this green space for leisure and recreation. The second function is that of Network Plaza. This is mostly visible in the main large element, centrally located in the park. This large sitting hill is where people where people can relax and have lunch or maybe a smoke. This is where interaction takes place. Because of the wide variety of functions, a lot of people from different backgrounds will meet each other on this hill, think tourists, designers, businessmen, shoppers, skaters etc. An extra function of the hill can be an outdoor stage during festival days. This would replace the original 4th bubble which had a music function.
