Summary

The economic crisis has big influences on development; its depressing vibe is not a new phenomenon; this however has taught us that recessions are not only periods of mass firing and budget cuts, but also of creative solutions to existing problems. the innovation and experimentation era has begun.

NDSM is at the forefront of this phenomenon. 'architecture without Permanence' is to reflect upon such innovation and experimentation; bridging gaps between people, functions, objects and time. its role is to reconnect existing and emerging people flows; provide adequate support to functions and programs; interact and interpret people behaviour as a way of re-adjustment of its own system.

StigmergicScape is an exploration upon self organisational architecture. how can one re-adapt itself in an endless looping of constant change? the ideas behind "stigmergic Systems" can be seen as an intelligent way of re-establishing, re-updating itself. its difference with responsive systems lies in the embedded memory; it doesn't just destroy the last condition, it changes and adapts from the last condition; a continuous process of self adaptation. (reference: Termite Mounds).
